The winds of change continue to sweep through the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) camp as former India keeper-batter Vijay Dahiya bids adieu to the IPL franchise ahead of the 2024 tournament. Dahiya, who had been an integral part of LSG’s support staff since the team’s inception in 2022 under Andy Flower’s coaching, has now parted ways with the franchise.

Having represented India in both Tests and One-Day Internationals in 2000 and 2001, Dahiya transitioned into coaching, previously serving as the coach of the Uttar Pradesh squad. His coaching journey included stints as an assistant coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders and as a talent scout for the Delhi Capitals.

This departure follows the exit of Gautam Gambhir, LSG’s mentor, who returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), signaling a transformation within the coaching setup.

LSG recently welcomed Justin Langer as the head coach for IPL 2024, marking a significant change in leadership. Alongside this shift, former India spinner Sridharan Sriram joins as one of the assistant coaches, aligning with the team’s coaching revamp that also features Pravin Tambe, Morne Morkel, and Jonty Rhodes.

Taking to social media, Vijay Dahiya bid farewell to Lucknow Super Giants, expressing gratitude for the enriching two-year journey and extending his best wishes to the team for the upcoming season.

“Time to bid adieu… LSG. Lucknow Super Giants, it was a wonderful experience working with the team over the past two years. Wishing team LSG all the very best :)” – Dahiya posted on Instagram
